IT'S OFFICIAL.....

It's official I have a kindergartener.....she started on Monday.
Brooke has been so excited to start kindergarten and that has been the subject of conversation for the last little while. We have been talking it up so that she would be exctied and not be scared to get on the bus and be gone all afternoon. Well I really think all that talk was for me instead. Brooke has done really great and I am the one that was afraid if she would be fine on the bus and get to her classroom okay. My confession: I followed the bus to school and without her seeing me I made sure she made it to her classroom. Of course she made it just fine and was all smiles. I forget how much she can do and that she is growing up! As the bus pulled away from our house the tears came (what a baby, I know!). I am glad she is growing and learning and that she can be independant, as long as she comes home and gives me a hug. I LOVE BEING A MOM. Even through the hard times I would never give it up!
So thank you Brooke and Sydney for being my daughters and loving me.

Hey Jamie - I hope you don't mind, I found you thru Alicia. Wow, I can't believe Brooke is in kindergarten! I made the mistake Tucker's first day of driving past at recess, we'd just move to Vegas, didn't know anyone, and he was playing all alone. Broke my heart! KG is a tough one, good job for being so brave! You can find us at www.teamhowey.blogspot.com

Ahh, now I'm the one crying. Excuse me while a wipe away a few happy tears. Seriously, it's so emotional watching these little ones become a bit more independent. Today we were in the car and Ellie says, "Mom, everyday I get closer to six. Everyday closer to my next birthday. I'm not going to stay little for long." Ahh, I know!

Brooke looks so cute. Love her little outfit. Love her little backpack. She's just so cute. She'll have such a great year.

I'm so glad that Lucy misses the cut off this year. I have one more year before I have to turn her loose... I'm sure I"ll follow the bus too (if I even let her ride the bus!)

So cool for Brooke. I can remember holding her for the first time and she started crying. Anyway Good luck to Brooke.

Ugh, so sweet! So heartwrenching! I'm trying to sort of live in denial and just focus on the fun new school clothes and backpack and such but I know it'll hit me that first day coming home to a "quieter" home, haha. She starts the day after Labor Day. I can't believe how big and grown-up Brooke looks!!! Congrats to you and to her. I have heard it gets easier every day (for us - haha). I think it's actually harder on us than on them!

What a big girl...I still remember how small she was when we first met at the dental wives dinner! How fun the time has been.

Oh my goodness! I cried just reading about Brooke getting on the bus. What a good mama you are-of course you would follow her to school. Well done Jamie- you've done a great job(I know Ryan helps too:)) She is beautiful- just like her mama. How's Syd doing without her?

So glad that I am not the only one with teary eyes nowadays. I cried when I dropped Blake off for preschool and he was only gone 2 hours! Brooke is such a big girl! I remember you helping her walk up the moving truck ramp our 1st day in Seattle. And what a brave girl (and Mama) to be riding the bus!

Wow, Brooke is so big now! I fear the day Aryn leaves us for school, but I know it will come all too soon. It's great to catch up with you guys. It will be nice to stay in touch. Best wishes, The Roberts
